About

Drawing from her background in theater, dance, illustration, and film, Alana’s artistic work focuses the power of storytelling and how the story is told through a particular medium. These concepts were explored further while completing her MFA in Visual Narrative at the School of Visual Arts. In her artistic practice, Alana’s work is unified by movement, expressive character, and a sense of playfulness. Through stop motion and experimental animation, Alana is able to capture the essence of each of her artistic mediums. She has a love for building imaginative worlds, expressive puppets and uses materials such as felting wool, organic matter, and recycled elements.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Alana enjoys playing a supporting role in getting any and all projects to the finish line. She is a seasoned production coordinator in visual effects and has worked on projects such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Severance, Masters of the Air, and Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls. Alana has a fascination with every single detail of post-production work and treats each piece as if it were her own creation. Alana fully understands the importance of details, whether it’s the choice of camera lens or the angle of a shot.
